Affiliate Program Terms

Last updated: October 13, 2026

By applying to the My Salon Store affiliate program, you agree to these terms.

About My Salon Store

My Salon Store (BSD Salon Store) is a retailer and distributor of professional hair care. We don't make, formulate, or test the products we sell; their manufacturers do. The product information on our site comes from the manufacturers, written to meet US cosmetic rules. That's why what you can say about a product is limited to what our product pages say (Section 6).

1. Joining the program

  1. You must be at least 18, live in the United States, and have a Zelle account linked to a US bank.
  2. You apply through our sign-up form and give accurate information, including your Zelle email or phone number.
  3. We review every application by hand. We may approve or decline any application for any reason, and we don't have to explain a decision.
  4. You are an independent contractor, not our employee, agent, or partner. You can't make promises or sign anything on our behalf.

2. How you earn commission

  1. You earn 20% of what the customer pays for products on an order that comes through your affiliate link, QR code, or affiliate code.
  2. Commission is figured after discounts. Shipping, sales tax, and gift card purchases don't count.
  3. An order counts as yours when the customer clicks your link or scans your QR code and buys within 30 days, unless they later use another affiliate's link or code. Using your affiliate code at checkout also counts.
  4. You don't earn commission on your own purchases, or on purchases by people who live with you.
  5. Our tracking records decide which orders are yours. If tracking fails because a customer blocks cookies or clears their browser, we can't pay on that order.

3. When and how you're paid

  1. Customers have 30 days after they receive an order to return it. Your commission on an order is locked once that window closes.
  2. If an order is refunded, canceled, or charged back, there is no commission on it. If we already paid you for it, we subtract that amount from your next payment.
  3. We pay locked commissions by Zelle within 5 business days after the return window closes.
  4. You're responsible for keeping your Zelle information correct. We aren't responsible for a payment sent to the Zelle details you gave us.
  5. We don't pay commission in cash, check, store credit, or any way other than Zelle unless we agree to it in writing.

4. Taxes

  1. You don't need to send us any tax forms to get started.
  2. Once our commission payments to you reach $600 in a calendar year, we will ask you for a completed IRS Form W-9. We hold further payments until we have it.
  3. If we pay you $2,000 or more in a calendar year, we will send you a Form 1099-NEC, as federal law requires. The threshold may change with inflation.
  4. You're responsible for your own taxes on what you earn.

5. Telling people you earn a commission

Federal law (the FTC Endorsement Guides) requires you to tell people you earn money when they buy through you. Every time you share your link, code, or QR code:

  1. Say it clearly and near the start, where people will see it without clicking "more." For example: "#ad" or "I earn a commission if you buy through my link."
  2. In videos and live streams, say it out loud and show it on screen.
  3. On printed materials in your salon, include this line or one like it: "We may earn a commission on purchases made through this code." Our printable templates already include it.
  4. "#affiliate" alone, or a disclosure hidden in a list of hashtags, isn't enough.

6. What you can say about products

We are a retailer. We don't make any of the products we sell, so we can't stand behind any claim that isn't in the manufacturer's own material and on our product pages. Anything you say about a product is your own statement, and you are responsible for it.

  1. If it isn't on our product page, don't say it. Describe a product only with facts and benefits that appear on its product page at mysalonstore.com, or in materials we give you.
  2. Keep your own experience true, and about looks and feel. "My hair felt softer after a week" is fine if it's true. Don't present your result as what everyone will get.
  3. Cosmetic claims only. Talk only about how hair and scalp look and feel. For example: "leaves hair softer," "improves the look of thinning hair," "helps reduce breakage from brushing and styling," "soothes the feel of a dry, tight scalp."
  4. Never say or suggest that a product grows or regrows hair, stops or prevents hair loss, treats, cures, or prevents any condition (including dandruff, itching, or irritation), or works on hair follicles or below the skin.
  5. Words you can't use about any product: therapy, treatment, treats, cure, heals, relief, medical, clinical, clinically proven, dermatologist, prescription strength, or FDA. Don't link a product to hormones, menopause, pregnancy, illness, stress, or medications.
  6. No promises. No guaranteed results, no results by a date, no percentages or study results, and no before and after photos that suggest a promised result.
  7. No safety or ingredient claims we haven't published. Don't say a product is safe for pregnancy or children, hypoallergenic, all natural, organic, chemical free, or free of any ingredient, unless those exact words are on its product page.
  8. No comparisons to other brands' products, to drugs, or to medical treatments.
  9. Your relationship is with us only. Don't say you are sponsored by, partnered with, or speaking for any brand we carry, such as BBCOS or Kaaral.
  10. Use product names exactly as written, even when a name includes a word like "Growth Boost." Don't build a claim on the name.
  11. Use only the prices and offers on our site. Don't invent sales, deadlines, or discounts.
  12. When in doubt, ask first. Send us your post before you publish it at admin@mysalonstore.com and we'll tell you if it's OK.

6A. Reviewing and correcting posts

  1. We review what affiliates post about us and the products we sell. When we ask, send us links to everything you've posted.
  2. If we ask you to change or remove a post, do it within 48 hours.
  3. If you don't, we may end the partnership right away and keep any unpaid commission on orders connected to that post.

7. What's not allowed

  1. Bidding on "My Salon Store," "mysalonstore," or close misspellings in Google, Bing, or any other search ads.
  2. Posting your link or code on coupon, deal, or cashback sites.
  3. Spam: unsolicited emails, texts, direct messages, or comments.
  4. Fake reviews, paid reviews you don't disclose, or reviews of products you haven't used.
  5. Buying through your own link, or any trick that sets tracking without a real customer choosing to click ("cookie stuffing").
  6. Pretending to be My Salon Store, or making a site, page, or account that looks like ours.
  7. Promoting us next to content that is illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, or violent.

8. Using our name and materials

  1. While you're an approved affiliate, you may use the My Salon Store name, logo, QR codes, and the marketing materials we give you, only to promote our store.
  2. Don't change our logo or materials, and don't change the claims in them.
  3. Product photos and brand names belong to us or to the brands we carry. Use only the images we provide.
  4. Your permission to use our name and materials ends when the partnership ends. Remove them from your pages and your salon within 14 days.

9. Ending the partnership

  1. You or we may end the partnership at any time, for any reason, by email.
  2. If it ends for a normal reason, we pay any commission you earned that locks after the return window closes, on the usual schedule.
  3. If you break these terms, we may end the partnership right away. You lose unpaid commission on any order connected to the violation. If the violation involves fraud, you lose all unpaid commission.
  4. If you go 12 months without a sale, we may close your account. Any locked commission is still paid.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will email you at least 14 days before a change takes effect. If you keep promoting us after that date, you accept the new terms. If you don't agree, you can leave the program before then.

11. Legal basics

  1. We provide the program as is. We don't promise any amount of sales or earnings.
  2. Our total responsibility to you under these terms is limited to the commission you've earned and not yet been paid.
  3. You are solely responsible for what you say and post. If a customer, a manufacturer, a government agency, or anyone else brings a claim against us because of something you said or did, you agree to cover our costs, including reasonable legal fees, settlements, and fines.
  4. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.
  5. These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about the program.
